Name: Dj Impact Music Style: DnB Outlar-Listed Events: 2 Outlar Cross-references: Disted Twisco, Sophonic, Deval Dj Impact Intro: Dj Impact (Patrick Lally) started in radio helping a friend DJ on his show at Buzz FM 88.1 in 1996. This led to him receiving his own weekly, Sunday show (4pm-7pm) in 1997. Buzz 88.1 FM received an award for being one of the top 6 largest underground radio stations in the UK. Impacts show became the longest running Drum & Bass radio show in the North West. Impact began DJing at Drum & Bass clubs around Manchester including the annual Manchester carnival. He secured several more residencies at Connect, Compulsion (Bowlers), D-Percussion festival, Conduct and Viagra Fools, and in 1999 secured another Drum & Bass radio show on North Soul 107.9 FM. On the 14th February 2002, Impact won the award for best Drum & Bass radio show in the Northwest and received a certificate for consistency and contribution to radio. During this time he devoted his spare time networking with club nights such as Squiggle de Mash and Spellbound in Manchester and Sophonic Sessions in Liverpool. His fan base and audience was widened considerably. This was brought to the attention of a local community radio station manager resulting in securing his services on Carnival 106.5 FM as well as completing a radio training course in May 2002. He went on to present a daily show promoting black history during the month of October on W.I.O.C.C. FM. Impact also completed a radio production and broadcasting techniques course at Radio Regen and went on to present a Drum and Bass show on North West Manchester FM. From the 18th to the 31st of January 2003 Impact presented a morning show and a drum and bass show on Hulme 106.5 fm and also presented a drum and bass show on the community radio station Swinton 87.7 FM on the 26th of April 2003. May 2003 saw Impact being offered a place on Radio Regens' four week `Training for Trainers' course. This consisted of learning about mentoring, delivering information, structure, communication skills, professionalism, dealing with difficult people, preparing and delivering a session. This has resulted in forthcoming workshops. During summer 2004 Impact DJed at Spellbound (Elemental, Manchester), Metropolis ( Phoenix, Manchester), Disted Twisco (Yales, Wrexham) and Surreal (Masque, Liverpool). December 2003 saw Impact securing several shows on Hulme and Moss Side FM and also hosts a fortnightly internet radio Drum and Bass show on nwdnb.co.uk.
