Name: Kaleida (aka Rob Reeves) Music Style: DnB Outlar-Listed Events: 2 Outlar Cross-references: Mark XTC, Prophecy, Sappo, Marcus Intalex, Deval, DJ-DS Kaleida Intro: Having a huge interest in music from an early age, Rob Reeves, AKA Kaleida, was steered towards Drum&Bass/Jungle in 1995 when he began mixing records and playing around with sounds on a computer. Influenced heavily by the legendary Intallex radio show on Kiss 102, Rob (formerly known as DJ Rob) began to pass mix tapes around play at parties around Manchester. His first residency came at Conduct in 99, where he found himself playing alongside the main Manchester DJs Mark XTC, Sappo, Marcus Intalex, Prophecy and Future Cut. Around this time Rob (now known as DJ Focus) began to step up his music production and gave out CDs to some of the contacts he had made through playing at Conduct. Gaining respect for his DJ sets and more importantly his production, Wilf ( Prophecy) signed several tunes for his New Vibe label. Having played at all of the major D&B nights in the north west, DJ SS picked up on a few of Robs' tunes and signed them for his New Identity label. With releases and bookings across the country, the word is being spread. In 2004 Rob has been concentrating on his music production, working on more releases for New Vibe and New ID, as well as a remix for DJ Devals' 12th Round Recordings label. He has also featured in both ATM and Knowledge magazines and is looking forward to forward to working on the new agency, Industry Artists.
