Sketchy Bwoy's been at the forefront of the Liverpool hiphop and funk scene for the last 5 years. From straight up funk, old and new school hiphop to bboy breaks and rib tickling reggae flavas, he mixes and cuts a number of styles, throwing in some turntable tomfoolery along the way.

Feeling inspired after bearing witness to DMC hiphop DJs and legendary funk artists, he pawned some belongings and invested in ones and twos. He went on to launch Sunday Service, a monthly live hiphop event which has become the longest running night at Liverpool's renowned venue, The Magnet. The night provided a chance to play to a rowdy crowd alongside up and coming and established acts from the UK hiphop scene. He remained promoter and resident of Sunday Service for close to 5 years and had the opportunity to support high profile UK hiphop artists from Phi-Life Cypher, Foreign Beggars and First Rate to The Aspects, The Truesicians (UK team DMC champions) and The Herbaliser.

After a few more years of dedication and crate digging he amassed a decent vinyl collection and perfected a number of scratching techniques, turntablism being an important part of the live performance alongside MCs Oscillate, Benny Diction, Ro Jista, Tony Skank and Louis Cypher (AKA The Punning Clan). With his 7 inch collection growing by the day, FNUK invited him to join the party. He has since rocked venues around the city, often playing back to back with funk soul collector and FNUK resident DJ Patience.

He has more recently been involved in a number of other events including judging the Northwest DMC DJ competition, playing out at Liverpool's biggest club event, Chibuku, as well as Liverpool's Hub Festival and a host of independent club nights. He's currently a regular at Late Night Sessions and GimpFist and his new project, 'The Itch and Scratch', sees him playing alongside Dr Rubberfunk, Big Daddy Moochin' and Black Grass amongst others.

Sketchy continues to expand his repertoire, branching out and dabbling with off kilter future soul, nu-jazz and bass heavy breakbeat and always digging for true dancefloor bombs!
