Cheeky Chappy Dave was born in Liverpool and has spent most of his time there apart from brief stints living abroad. Musical roots go back to an obsession with Bob Marley as a small child and a heavy exposure to break-dance in the eighties, which led him to impress girls at his infant school with a deadly repertoire of body-pop moves.

If there is one word that adequately describes David's music and approach, it is uncompromising. With a complete disregard for the moronic trends that surround us on all sides, David plays records as someone whose interest lies solely in representing the music he loves and believes needs to be heard. Challenging and educating the dance floor is as important as anything else, this is something that fits in well with the T-Funkshun idea of "Edutainment".

David is a minimalist at heart, fascinated by the potential of repetition, texture and space within music. Techno, Minimal House, Glitch and Electronica all play a part in the make-up of his sets. Since day one at T-Funkshun, David has never aimed to play to what the crowd expect, a DJ that truly plays for himself as much as anybody else regardless of the occasion, something that has earned him great respect amongst his peers and listeners.

David has played in the UK and Czech Republic so far and has plans to create infrequent parties that will showcase local and national live acts in Liverpool.
