Gary first became hooked on dance music after a trip to Ibiza way back in 1999. When he returned, he soon invested some of his hard earned student loan in a beginners' set-up, and began learning how to mix records...

Weekly trips to Cream's main room and Courtyard led to Gary's record box being crammed full of melodic trance and progressive house in the early days, but over the years his sound has matured. These days, a Gary Martin set is loaded with deep, US house (with a hefty nod to Chicago) that has no doubt been influenced by watching the likes of Justin Long, DJ Sneak, Yousef, Lewis Boardman, et al

These days, Gary is a resident at two established local club nights – Funkadelic and Lost Property, as well as regularly playing "eclectic" sets at Sunday Sludge-A-Thon at Django's Riff. He has also played in The Dragon Bar at "A One Off Sound", for Conga @ Baby Cream, the "Why Not??" Warehouse Parties, and a set at Bar Home in Leeds

Through this growing list of gigs, Gary has played alongside such local luminaries as: Steve Brown, Dash, Alex Wasikowski, Paul Nolan, Maverick Mitchell, Liam Bulloch, Cler "the Rabbit Catcher" Lever, Dom Chung, Danny Woods, Clare Powell, Sean Martin, Dj Medioka, Stewart Macleod, Ben Proudlove, and many more...

Musically: Gary is influenced predominantly by black music – be that house, jazz, soul, funk, reggae, drum n bass or hip-hop. These are influences that Gary incorporates into all his sets: be that playing straight up house at Funkadelic, or hip-hop and reggae at Sludge-A-Thon!
