Drumsound consists of 3 members, andy Drumsound, timmy static and benn g. each member brings there own individulistic talent to this tight group now tipped to be the new 21st century boys.

Drumsound andy Drumsound is the main producer / engineer and has been making drum and bass and building his studio since 1995 after attending a studio skills course at a studio in nottingham. he specialises in blending heavy distorted sub bass with noises ranging from spacey to almost funky. tim, on the other, hand has come from a more contemporary musical background and tends to bring the more melodic side to the tunes by incorporating the use of vocals, live sounds and acoustic instruments.

Benn g again comes from a completely different background. he has been a dj for almost 10 years playing everything from hip-hop and soul, hardcore and finally drum and bass. over the last 5 years he has played on the same bill as just about every drum & bass dj alongside the rest of the crew.

The initial idea behind Drumsound was for local dj's/producers to join forces in order to progress quickly as one tight unit instead of slowly as individuals. the producers made the tunes which the dj's played at the residency they held at a local club night called 'technique' (one of the biggest eclectic break beat nights in the midlands at the time).

As time progressed there tunes became reknowned for tearing dance floors apart and it wasn't long before other bigger dj's showed there support and wanted to release and cut the tunes they were making. this lead to collaborations with dj ratty and dj ascend ( dread bass ) who were regular visitors to watch them play. As the tunes increased in quality and number it was time to find a vehicle to release them. their very first release was through tribe records bristol who were prepared to give, at this point a very experimental Drumsound, a chance to share their ideas with the rest of the world. as the tunes went out they utilised the money to buy bigger and better equipment for their studio ( studio one ).

After releasing more tunes through tribe and with releases on several other larger labels on the cards it was time to think about starting their own label. as they neared the end of 1998 Drumsound linked with another 'technique' resident simon 'bassline' smith of absolute and absolute 2 fame.

the two quickly became regular sparring partners and soon where making tunes on a daily basis. Their mutual understanding and musical tastes were completely identical and it was soon decided to form a combined imprint in order to showcase their individual and joint projects; 'technique recordings' was born...

since then the two parties have gone from strength to strength combining simons old skool background with Drumsound's new skool ideas to form and explosive partnership, considered by some, to be similar to that of ed rush and optical. Drumsound / bassline are now set on conquering the world with their sound with releases on some of the biggest and most reputable labels and with backing from the biggest drum and bass dj's in the world.
