Evol

Intro: EVOL began life in September 2003 at Liverpool's Seel Street Club, Heebie Jeebies. Ladytron's Danny Hunt and Reuben Wu along with DJ Revo and Hamburg's Plastic Penny founded a club night where they could hang out and listen to their favourite types of music, the leftside of rock, new wave and electro. The catacombs of Heebie Jeebies's dark underbelly provided the ideal space and EVOL launched with live acts The Fat Truckers, Death In Vegas, Bloc Party and Weird War causing a menace with the EVOL crowd, whilst resident DJs along with guest DJs Mark Moore, Brendan Long and Franz Ferdinand attended to the needs of the Heebies dance floor. After ten months of weekly parties however, EBGB's was sadly forced to close.

EVOL then moved swiftly across town to the superb Liverpool Carling Academy with London's Whitey kicking off LIVE proceedings in July 2004 followed by shows from the Dead60s, JoJo De Freq, Ratatat, Gold Blade, Miss Kittin, Erol Alkan, Arthur Baker, The Faint, Mount Sims, Adult, Moving Units, Radio Slave, The Micronauts, Midnight Movies, Joe McKechnie, Nine Black Alps, Dead Combo, Snow Patrol DJs, Black Strobe, The Little Flames, The Beat Up, Optimo, Black Wire, Neils Children, Joost Van Bellen, Damo Suzuki, Arctic Monkeys, The Zutons DJs, Richard Fearless, Komakino, Will Sergeant, Ann Shenton, Kings Have Long Arms and Australia's Cut Copy.

Liverpool based bands The Vagabonds, Cubical, The Veras, The Delta Fiasco, Ambulance, Hot Club de Paris, Automation, Dirt Blonde, Bexy Sitch & The Creepy Crawlies, 747s, The V.Cs, Zukanican, Dror, Flamingo 50, The Rails, Biltone, Camille Davila, The Basement, The Suzukis, Pop Levi & The Emergencies, Snap Ant and The Aeroplanes have all played memorable sets in support

Evol relocated to Korova in September 2005!
