mUmU

Intro: mUmU is a collective social who's UK home is Liverpool. Having emerged onto the electronic music map in January 2008, mUmU is a relatively new arrival on the scene, but the organic growth and planning had been 5 years in the making. Natural progression has pushed mUmU into the public arena at a time when dance music & culture have never looked so exciting.

Showcase live electronic, deep house and techno from the world's best producers, re-mixers and DJ's. mUmU rotate and change the sound to keep it fresh, and guests have a chance to play early and/or late to express themselves and show a side they usually don't. Our parties take place on selected Saturday & Sundays, characterised by a friendly, musically aware crowd, who help to create our vibe. Resident DJ's on rotation are Lee Rands Harrisôn & Gemmah. Guests have included Pier Bucci live, Clive Henry, Hector, Kyle Geiger Rhadoo & Pedro to name but a few.

Details of our social's can be found by joining the mUmU community at www.youmemumu.com & facebook group 'mUmU'.

The Black-E (1 Great George Street, Liverpool, L1 5EW)

Intro: The Black-E (formerly The Blackie) - a combination of a contemporary arts centre with a community centre - was launched in 1968 as the U.K.'s first community arts project. The commitments made then remain the commitments today - to young people (offering, in the words of The Last Poets, "affection, protection, direction") - to a cultural programme emphasising participation and involvement ("do-ing" as well as "viewing") - to education (formal and informal) - and to quality of work with equality of provision.
