'Isle Of MTV' Tour Hits Liverpool

Liverpool, 12 june 2004: The eagerly anticipated ‘Isle of MTV’ 2004 11-date pan-European club tour will continue across Europe this summer when it reaches Liverpool, UK on Saturday 12 June.

MTV Europe - in collaboration with Chibuku (Mixmag club of the year), and Yousefs world renowned Circus house club will co-present the second ‘Isle of MTV’ 2004 club night, at Nation in Liverpool - European City of Culture 2008. The night will boast a blistering roster of talent, including Kenny “Dope” Gonzales, Yousef, Ca$h Money, Mark Farina, Mutiny (Live) Mark Ronson, Scratch Perverts, Tim Deluxe and Slam, Lewis Boardman and the Beat Monkeys. Combined with a glittering array of visuals, lighting, and decorations the ‘Isle of MTV’ tour event in Liverpool is set to be a night to remember!

Comprising one half of prolific DJ duo Masters At Work (with "Little Louie" Vega), Kenny "Dope" Gonzalez is accustomed to defiantly mixing a tasty combination of house, hip-hop, funk, disco, Latin, African and jazz into a completely universal groove. The Brooklyn born master of eclectic deck acrobatics is a sought after asset to artists and labels alike, having previously remixed for Bjork, Deee-Lite, Neneh Cherry, Soul II Soul, Janet Jackson, Daft Punk, Incognito, Stephanie Mills, Brand New Heavies and many more.

One of today’s hottest DJ talents, Yousef has carved a reputation as a dance music stalwart - a regular in Ibiza and across the world, he has carved a unique niche as a UK festivals favourite. His Liverpool club night alongside his new Carioca imprint has placed him firmly on the map as one of Europes cutting edge house djs.

Philadelphia-based DJ Ca$h Money has gained a reputation as a legend on the turntables. In 1988 he was crowned the ‘World's Best DJ, and was banned from entering further DJ championships because nobody else would stand a chance! In addition to his legendary DJ sets, he has worked as a producer and remixer with Snoop Dog, Q-Tip, Public Enemy and Busta Rhymes among many.

Tony Vegas, Prime Cuts and Plus One are the Scratch Perverts - a name that has become synonymous with hip-hop and battle DJing since they formed six years ago. Their reputation as one of the world¹s most progressive DJ collectives is unparalleled, and they have recently made the transition to recording artists to great acclaim.

Mutiny (Live) are set to present a supreme selection of jacked-up party-wise cuts from their forthcoming album on Underwater "Yada Yada". The first track to be taken from the album "Dem Girls" featuring Sweetie Irie, wil be released in July - a definite Ibiza anthem in the making... From the classics to extraordinarily funky house, Mutiny (Live) will rock the crowd.

From the classic, garage stormer ‘Rip Groove’, to the seamless ‘Sirens/We All Love Sax’, to his Latin Inspired, house monster: ‘It Just Won’t Do’ - Tim Deluxe’s productions so far have been renowned for quality, diversity and above all, making people move. Remix wise, Deluxe has added his flavour to Kylie’s ‘Can’t Get You Out of My Head’, Basement Jaxx’s ‘ Do Your Thing’, Gus Gus' "David" and many more. And more recently Deluxe’s cheeky rock Bootlegs - including The White Stripes, Nirvana and Blur have been kicking the world over in to touch and bringing rock into rave...

Mark Farina first developed his musical tastes in Chicago - the world’s primordial breeding ground for house, where he describes his DJ career as ‘a hobby that turned into a job’. After producing the ambient house classic Mood in the late eighties, Mark created the downbeat style of Mushroom Jazz, which spawned a legendary series of club nights and remixes. One of the world’s most prolific DJs, Mark regularly plays more than 300 shows world-wide each year, and has recently released his first album of original music.

Mark Ronson first made a name for himself as a genre-hopping DJ with an ear for culture-clashing mixes - including Jay-Z, Outkast, Moby, Nelly Furtado and more. He has recently used his consummate skills to produce his first solo album - the widely acclaimed Here Comes The Fuzz. Slam, aka Glasgow’s Stuart McMillan and Orde Miekle are a devilish duo that have been practising by their own punk ethic for the last decade. Their elasticated bass tones and dirty disco have formed the cultural fabric of Glasgow’s clubbing elite, also bringing their sound to clubs in Ibiza and producing Scotland’s largest outdoor pavilion at the annual ‘T-In The Park’ for 25,000 hedonistic revellers. Yousefs protégé, 22 year old Lewis Boardman will also be making his Nation debut. Since the announcement of his Circus residency a year ago he has played with some of the biggest names in the business, from Fatboy Slim, Darren Emerson, Lottie, Erick Morillo, Josh Wink, James Zabiela, H Foundation, Sneak to name but a few. His set at the Circus Miami party has won him fans like Onionz and Joeski and Doc Martin. The Beat Monkeys...Chibuku`s four deck wizards are hotly tipped by Mixmag as Future Heroes and have been dropping super eclectic scratch heavy sets from Ibiza to Moscow and are currently heavily touring the Uks best clubs like Blowpop and Fabric.

The ‘Isle of MTV’ Liverpool event will also boast stunning visual displays produced and mixed by internationally renowned moving image label Tomato. In partnership with MINI and Speedo, the ‘Isle of MTV’ 2004 club tour will visit some of the hottest locations in Europe - including Copenhagen, Rovinj (Croatia), Biarritz, Naples, Berlin, and Zurich as well as the main Isle of MTV event which is set to take place on the sun kissed beach of Tossa De Mar on Spain’s Costa Brava on 12 July 2004. MTV will be filming all the action in Liverpool, with highlights from the ‘Isle of MTV’ 2004 club tour to be broadcast across MTV Networks Europe’s 119 million homes later this Summer.
